Atrius Health’s Medicare Population Health Strategy: ACOs as the platform

“Consumers will only act on information that comes from a trusted source, and Peppers & Rogers Group’s 2012 survey found that the majority of health insurers’ customers do not trust their health plans. Consumers generally do not view health plans as trusted sources for identifying better providers, so an offer of a $50 stay-in-network incentive payment might elicit an initial response such as, ‘Consider the source, there must be some catch,’ and the question, ‘Why are you really directing me to this provider?’ "

We found that while 69 percent of people have noticed a difference in the amount of technologies being used by their doctor over the last five years, 97 percent are comfortable with tech as long as it doesn’t interfere with the physician-patient relationship.
