A recent study from Johns Hopkins University evaluated housing needs across a patient population and how those needs impacted healthcare utilization. After adjusting for other factors, the study found that patients with housing instability had 49% more encounters with the healthcare system, and homeless patients had 34% more encounters with the healthcare system, compared to patients without housing issues. |
