"The single-biggest priority this year has been to navigate a pandemic of historic proportions. Our ability to effectively collaborate internally as well as externally was a key to our success. It was amazing to see people nimbly pivot during this time. However, COVID-19 is not our sole activity. We continue to work on the quadruple aim, which is the underpinning of success for healthcare. This includes excellent patient experience; excellent health outcomes (quality); reduced total cost of care; and excellent physician/clinician/staff satisfaction."
-  Anil Keswani, MD, CMO for ambulatory and accountable care, Scripps Health.

Factoid

At the two ACOs participating in South Carolina’s Care Coordination Institute, providers used more than 40 different EHRs and clinical data systems. During an initial assessment, CCI found more than 300,000 duplicate records in need of reconciliation. Some same-source systems had duplication rates as high as 80%. After CCI deployed an Enterprise Master Patient Index to jumpstart its patient identity management program, the same-system duplicate record rate dropped to 0.2% in most cases and just 3% within the network’s largest EHR environment.
