Researchers from the
Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information
Technology evaluated data from the US Department of Health &
Human Services’ Health Information National Trends Survey and
found that 49% of tablet or smartphone owners use a health and
wellness app. Also, says a recent report, 75% use apps to track
progress on health goals, 48% use them to make treatment
decisions, 45% use them to talk to providers and 28% use them
for sharing information with health professionals.
