"I think contact tracing is going to be huge in the future. We have reports that can show the interactions between patients, staff, and assets. Where there wasn’t as much excitement about that factor prior to COVID-19, it’s definitely something we’re hearing a lot more about now."
- Sheila Minton, chief operating officer of TAGNOS.

"Milliman projects the [COVID-19] pandemic will reduce U.S. nationwide [healthcare] expenditures between $75 billion to $575 billion in 2020, depending upon 18 different scenarios with varying infection rates and durations of care deferral. If care is deferred through the end of June, the net reduction in 2020 costs through June would be between $140B and $375B, but year end reductions are dependent upon second half of year pent-up demand."

Healthshare TV video Coronavirus: Can Artificial Intelligence Make A Difference?

With wide-scale responses underway by countries to counter the coronavirus’ spread, the use of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) may prove to be vitally important now and in the future. AI has the ability to deliver insights that can assist national response to COVID-19 by giving insights into which hospitals will have similar experiences and impacts, insights to help communities plan for when and how healthcare resources will be impacted, insights into highest risk patients, and provide clinicians with point-of-care clinical decision support.
