Do Medical Homes Increase Medication Adherence?A recent study compared the medication adherence
of medical home enrollees to that of nonenrollees, for patients with
chronic conditions. The study measured
the proportion of days covered (PDC) on treatment medication each month
for 12 months. Compared with
nonenrollees, medical home enrollees had a higher proportion of days
covered (PDC) by 4.7, 6.0, 4.8, and 5.1 percentage points for
depression, hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia, respectively. Source: "Do Medical Homes Increase
