	“I think if there is any remaking of the ACA, it's going to follow three pillars of the GOP wisdom on healthcare delivery: choice, competition and actuarial soundness. And if that's true, then I think the survival of PCMHs depend on whether they can take financial risk. If they can take risk in a world where bundled payments are growing, they will be able to do well. If not, not. The problem is, I am not sure how well PCMHs are designed to take risk. You're going to watch hospitals take more risk, but medical homes don't have the same level of resources.” - David Friend, M.D., chief transformation officer and managing director of BDO's Center for Healthcare Excellence & Innovation, New York City.
	"A recent study of the perioperative surgical home for TGH's joint replacement patients compared a control group of 678 patients outside of the surgical home to another group of 678 patients who underwent their procedure inside the surgical home. The data indicate that care within the surgical home is more closely coordinated: The number of lab tests ordered were 22 percent lower than the control group; imaging tests decreased by 9 percent, and the amount of transfused blood used for the procedures dropped by 87 percent."
