"In March, we saw the immediate impact of COVID-19 and hospitals’ desire to “save” hospital beds result in a 13% drop in organ donors as compared to last year’s monthly average. But by aggressively reminding our hospital and transplant colleagues that HHS has deemed donation and transplant a Tier 3 critical medical procedure, April brought a 22% increase over 2019 donation rates. At this point in the year, OneLegacy is actually on track to record an 18% increase over our 2019 record 557 deceased organ donors."

Factoid
Data show us that many Americans – 5% of those who receive private insurance – make up a hidden population of people who are accessing the healthcare system frequently, yet may not be experiencing optimal health outcomes... Compared to the “average” insured person, they use the medical system three times more, spend approximately $12,000 more a year, and are prescribed 5 times more medications.
