But by aggressively reminding our hospital and transplant colleagues that HHS has deemed donation and transplant a Tier 3 critical medical procedure, April brought a 22% increase over 2019 donation rates. At this point in the year, OneLegacy is actually on track to record an 18% increase over our 2019 record 557 deceased organ donors."

Compared to the “average” insured person, they use the medical system three times more, spend approximately $12,000 more a year, and are prescribed 5 times more medications.

Cardinal Health: 4 Implications of SDOH on Cancer Treatment

1. 68% of oncologists participating in the survey said at least half of their patients are negatively impacted by social determinants of health (SDOH).
2. 83% cited financial insecurity/lack of health insurance as a barrier to treatment.
3. 58% cited access to transportation as a barrier to treatment.
4. 53% cited health literacy as a barrier to treatment.
