"There are many areas that pose challenges in the predictive modeling area when looking at healthcare measurement. When we need to rely on self-reported data or information not found in medical claims, it makes it more difficult to determine if the metrics are being met. While we would like to see hemoglobin A1c levels in the normal range, all we can see from the claims information is whether an individual had the test. Without the luxury of electronic medical records or chart reviews it will always be difficult to determine what the actual data are and how to evaluate and interpret them longitudinally. With the expansion of EMR use or improvements in biometric screening data, some of these gaps in the information can be closed." Russell D. Robbins MD MBA, Principal & Senior Clinical Consultant, Mercer | ||
90% of respondents attained a positive ROI from their most successful
deployment of predictive analytics; more than half from their
least-successful deployment. In another survey, “among respondents who
have implemented predictive analytics, 66% say it provides ‘very high’
or ‘high’ business value.”. Excerpted from Predictive Modeling News, Volume 5, Number 5 |
