  "According to the population-wide all payer all cause MVP [multi-visit patient] analysis we conducted in Massachusetts, the 30-day readmission rate for patients with 4 or more hospitalizations in a 12-month period was 38%; the 30-day readmission rate for patients with 1, 2, or even 3 hospitalizations (eg a non-MVP) was 8%."
