Factoid
  According to an Axios report containing new research by Johns Hopkins University, 57 of the 100 largest hospitals in the US charged more than 5 times the actual cost [of care], on average. Nine hospitals charged more than 10 times the cost. The hospital with the highest average markup was HCA’s Chippenham Hospital in Richmond VA; its charges were nearly 13 times its cost.

JAANP: Nurse Practitioner–Owned Practices and VBP Arrangements: 4 Findings

1.
A third participate in value-based payment arrangements.
2. Half are considering participating in value-based payment arrangements.
3. Three-quarters are knowledgeable about value-based payment arrangements.
4. Over 70% report barriers to VBP participation including lack of knowledge, lack of financial protections, and lack of payer partnership.
