Factoid
  A recent issue of the Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy includes a report on a retrospective observational study that included elderly patients with diabetes. Researchers found that 81% of 9,497 patients were adherent to their medications, and 21% were hospitalized. The covariate-adjusted length of stay for patients who were non-adherent to their medications was 24% longer than that of adherent patients for all-cause hospitalization and 12.7% longer for diabetes-related hospitalization.

97% of all physicians relied on fee-for-service and/or salary for their compensation in 2020
2. 36% also received value-based payments
3. 23% of physicians received performance bonuses of more than 5%

5. 48% of physicians are comfortable discussing costs with patients
